Dennis Pendergast is the founder and lead mechanic of King Air America. He began his aviation career at the age of 19 as a student at Spartan College of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK. Upon his graduation with high honors, he earned his FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses. He then went on to get his Inspection Authorization.
He has worked over multiple decades for Commuter and Regional Airlines, Part 135 Cargo, Cessna Dealerships, and has successfully run several aviation maintenance shops of his own. He has worked as a lead mechanic on turbine, turboprop and piston aircraft.
He also served as a lead mechanic for Ameriflight in Burbank, CA where he helped maintain a fleet of 30 Beechcraft B99 and C99 cargo planes. During this time he was also promoted to serve as Crew Chief for the company president’s King Air E90.
He also performed numerous PT6 Hot Section Inspections while at Ameriflight. He then went on to train other mechanics to do the same.
Dennis is also an instrument and multi-engine rated pilot with approximately 1,400 hours total time. He also holds a single engine commercial pilot certificate.
